So happy that you took the opportunity to quit and figure out who you are these days! I went thru the same when I closed Cookie Confidential, I was SO RELIEVED when I made the decision to end it, my entire personality changed. It took about 5 years after closing to miss it just a little, and that’s been a nice feeling. Looking forward to reading what you share on here. I hope some of it is about hot dogs 😂

My mom said the same thing about my personality in the first month after closing 😂 I worried that a wave of grief/loss/mourning would overwhelm me when I finally had time and space to process, but I think I did so much of that in advance of making the decision, that instead there was just peace.

Hi Heather! I feel like this was meant for me to read today. Any chance we can chat off of this thread? I would love a chance to catch up. My email is erica@sansbakery-nyc.com.

It took me a lot of time to work on sharing this, so it means a lot that this resonates. I want to talk more about all the things no one talks about in business ownership - because that's part of what makes the unknown so terrifying. So YES! I'll send you a note via email. And thanks for reading!

I was trying to figure out how I was subscribed to this, and then saw in the end notes that the business you closed was Primal Supply! Definitely miss y'all, but also totally respect the need to change things up. Looking forward to reading more.

Thanks Nathan! It was a an incredibly difficult decisions and a loss for so many more people than me, but I'm looking forward to redirecting my energy in our food community. Happy to have you along for this ride.

Dear Heather-I admire you even more now, good for you! I, too, gave up my business and am so much more at peace. Take your time, breathe, read and talk to your dog. (Oh, and a visit to Provence might help too!)

Can you believe it's been nearly 10 years since we first met over the butcher counter? Thanks for being original believers. So happy to have you here.
